Star Trek Voyager takes place in the 24th century and which is, stranded in a distant part of the galaxy the Delta Quadrant by the Caretaker.  Here, the crew grudgingly teams with Maquis rebels now stuck 70,000 light years away from home.  Leading the Voyager crew is Kate Mulgrew as Captain Kathryn Janeway.  Now it is up to Captain Janeway to command her crew and must learn to work together with the Maquis to struggle to return to Federation space.

`Star Trek' fourth series, the first to feature a female captain.  Genevieve Bujold was originally cast as Janeway, but was replaced by Kate Mulgrew after only a few days of filming.

"We're alone in an uncharted part of the galaxy, we've already made some friends and some enemies, we have no idea of the dangers we're going to face but one thing is clear, both crews are going to have to work together if we're to survive.  That's why commander Chakotay and I have agreed that this should be one crew a Starfleet crew and as the only Starfleet vessel assigned to the Delta quadrant, we'll continue to follow our directive, to seek out new worlds and explore space, but our primary goal is clear.  Even at maximum speeds it would take 75 years to reach the Federation, but I'm not willing to settle for that, there's another entity out there like the Caretaker, who has the ability to get us there a lot faster.  We'll be looking for her and we'll be looking for worm holes, spatial rifts or new technologies to help us, somewhere along this journey, we'll find our way home.  Mr. Paris, set a course, for home."

Borg     "We are the Borg, you will be assimilated, resistance is futile". The Borg are a collective, who work together to assimilate information and new Borg drones out of other species, on a quest to find perfection. Every race that is assimilated is brought closer to perfection, but every individual is striped from their individuality.

"They say our galaxy is impure, its proximity is a threat to their genetic integrity....they said, 'Your galaxy will be purged.'"

The Kazon:

The Kazon do not know honor like the Klingon empire.  The Kazon have stalked the USS Voyager through their space when they first arrived in the Delta quadrant, they even hijacked the ship and left the crew on a deserted planet.  A spy known as Seska, who was thought to be a Bajoran woman who joined the Maquis, but was actually a Cardassian spy, joined the Kazon in their fight for Federation technology.

The Hirogen:

The Hirogen, like every other species and race have their own way of life.  The Klingon empire are warriors and care about honor, the Ferengi are a race of greedy, money loving traders, dealers and bartenders.  But the Hirogen are a race of hunters, who once took over Voyager and used it's holodecks and made the crew think they were part of the program, a program where the Hirogen played the Germans.  Voyager later gave them the holo technology, so that the Hirogen could evolve from the hunt, but what did they do with this new technology?

The Vadians:

The Vadians are a normal bumpy headed race, but they suffer from a disease called the Phage, this disease slowly destroys the internal and external parts of the body, so they are all weaklings and only care about curing themselves.  But now they are so advanced in medical technology that they actually once saved the captain and first officer from an insect bite that they had on a planet, but if they left they would die.

The Krenim:

The time altering Krenim are people who have dedicated their technology to time, they prefer to make torpedoes that are slightly out of the time continuum, which gives them the ability to go through Voyager's shields, for example. The Voyager's crew encountered them in the episode called "The Year Of Hell I&II", where they spent a year trying to pass through their space, with over half the crew dead and most of the ship's systems down.

Species 8472:

In their search for further species worthy of assimilation, the Borg first encountered Species 8472 after they found a way to enter fluidic space in the 2370s. However, Species 8472 turned out to be immune to the Borg's assimilation attempts and the invasion of their realm provoked
